"Freedom is our collective dream, and this dream knows no borders. Supporting the fight for self-determination in the Philippines and in West Papua is not just an act of solidarity—it is our duty for international justice and liberation," opened Paul Belisario, Global Coordinator, International Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self-Determination and Liberation (IPMSDL) in an afternoon of discussion about the West Papua.

The discussion aimed to deepen awareness about the West Papuan people's persisting struggle for self-determination and liberation from Indonesia's colonial occupation. Hosted by the Merdeka West Papua Support Network, the event was attended by representatives from Filipino Indigenous Women, the peasant movement, environmental activists, and other progressive formations. The gathering became a space of mutual learning and commitment to international solidarity, with Filipino groups expressing their support for the West Papuan cause and pledging to amplify their calls for justice on local and global platforms.
